Exceptional & breathtaking! This museum-worthy monumental pair of Art Nouveau cabinets “Les Hortensias” designed and produced by Maison Gouffé Jeune in Paris, 1902. Created for and exhibited at the Salon du Mobilier at the Grand Palais, these cabinets represent the pinnacle of early 20th-century French decorative arts.

Maison Gouffé Jeune was renowned for producing some of the finest luxury furniture of its time, and this exceptional pair perfectly reflects that reputation. Crafted in richly figured mahogany with oak and lemonwood interiors, the cabinets combine multiple high-end materials with outstanding craftsmanship.

All carved decoration is executed entirely by hand, including the sculptural hydrangea (“hortensias”) motifs on the doors and the flowing organic floral supports. The doors are fitted with finely beveled glass panels, while the interiors feature a combination of solid oak and lemonwood compartments. Original bronze floral handles and key escutcheons complete the design with refined detail.

Professionally restored in-house with traditional French polish, this pair presents at a museum level of finish and preservation. A rare and highly important Art Nouveau ensemble, both decorative and investment-worthy.
