French Art Nouveau chandelier “Dahlia” by Daum and Louis Majorelle, created around 1900–1905, is a rare and exceptional collaboration between two masters of the Art Nouveau movement.

The chandelier features a large Daum glass paste centerpiece with three matching shades, each intricately acid-etched with blooming dahlia floral motifs. The glass paste is layered with rich mineral colour powders fused into the material, creating deep painterly tones of purple, orange, red, and yellow. All four glass elements are signed “Daum Nancy” with the Cross of Lorraine.

The composition is supported by a finely hand-forged wrought iron frame by Louis Majorelle, featuring elegant organic curves that echo the floral glass design. The contrast between sculptural ironwork and luminous glass captures the essence of Art Nouveau.
This chandelier is preserved in outstanding original condition and represents a rare survival of complex Art Nouveau craftsmanship, combining the most innovative glass techniques of Daum with the refined metalwork of Majorelle.
